DIVERSITY SCHOLARSHIPS

Thank you for your interest in Misfit Improv and Acting School's Diversity Scholarships. We are committed to providing equal opportunities for individuals from marginalized groups and making our performance classes accessible to those who have encountered barriers to entry.

Our Mission

Our mission is to create an inclusive and equitable environment where everyone can thrive and express their unique talents.

  • There may be 2 Diversity Scholarships per class. Students belonging to a diverse group may receive a DiversityScholarship up to 3 times.

  • After a student has received 3 Diversity Scholarships, they may apply to our internship program and trade time for classes.

  • To ensure a simple and accessible submission process, we have outlined the steps below.

Eligibility

To be eligible for a Diversity Scholarship, you must belong to one or more marginalized groups. We define marginalized groups as those who have historically faced systemic barriers and discrimination. These groups include, but are not limited to:

  • LGBTQ+ individuals

  • Individuals with Disabilities. (Please note, there are stairs into our space. We are exploring finding a space that is accessible to folks unable to use stairs.)

  • Veterans

  • Individuals from low-income backgrounds.

Low-income is defined by the Federal Department of Health & Human Services as:

    $14,580 for a one-person household,
    $19,720 for a two-person household,

    $24,860 for a three-person household, and
