Through group games and exercises, students will practice listening, being present in the moment, exploring impulse/spontaneity, trusting their instincts, and the fundamental concept of "Yes, And" in improvisation. This course utilizes long form techniques to create scenes. Taught by Joe Carroll.

Music Improv Level 1 is a 3-week course focused on short form musical improv, long form musical improv, and working in partnership with a music director. is a drop-in performance workshop.

Improvisors who have taken Improv 101 or 201
What will I learn?
The first half of the class explores short form musical games, and the remainder of the class explores the narrative format of an improvised musical. Participants will learn song structure, rhyming techniques, how to integrate singing when you are also improvising, and the long form narrative structure of the improvised musical.
